About IBC


The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is required by the National Institute of Health Guidelines (NIH Guidelines). This presidential committee is advisory on matters relating to the safe use and handling of biological materials, including recombinant DNA molecules, on the WSU campus.
 
Investigators must register with the IBC (via an BAF form) prior to conducting any research (regardless of the funding source) involving; rDNA, human fluids or tissues, or other infectious agents related research involving biohazardous materials.
